Karin Sander
27.03.2021 – 04.07.2021
Solo Exhibition
Tübingen, Germany
"Karin Sander responds with the sensitivity of a seismograph to the architectural, institutional, and social circumstances of everyday life, subtly intervening in what she discovers there. Our exhibition presents works created especially for the Kunsthalle Tübingen, as well as works on paper from the past three decades. With formal rigour and using a range of materials and media, they bear witness to the commonplace. The Office Works series, comprising roughly 1,500 sheets of paper, is particularly extensive, and this compendium of works on paper is the focus of the Tübingen exhibition. It confronts us with a multitude of objects that we would normally find only on our work desk. These drolly presented works are at one and the same time rigorous and poetical. They inspire us to discover magic and beauty in everyday life. Their arrangement here allows us to follow chronologically the thirty-year process of their creation."
